One Foot in the Grave and the Other on a Banana Peel

Well, this is it. The last email on the mission. It's been a long time. So many emails, so many stories, it's almost hard to believe that this is it.

My last few days are going to be very short. Monday I go to Gorongosa for a Safari. Tuesday I will have my final interview and dinner. Then Wednesday I leave. Then finally Thursday I arrive in Denver. It will all likely be a little messy and rushed but will be great. I have worked hard to do my best these last few days as a missionary.

President Moraes had one more surprise for me. Friday morning we got a call informing us that we would be receiving a new missionary. Even crazier is that he hasn't even been to the MTC yet. He literally was just a normal person on Monday and now he has been serving for almost a week. His name is Elder Fiel. Fiel means faithful or loyal, so he is literally Elder Faithful. So I will have a fourth son and technically grandson too.

On Sunday our Stake split! It was super crazy but super cool. They also spent like 20 minutes just announcing all the people receiving the Melquisedeque priesthood. All the people called had to stand for a long time. But it was super cool. They also had some super solid talks and announced all the new changes. They split about 3 wards and made the new stake. Now Beira has 3 stakes: Beira, Munhava and Manga.

I may not get to write everything this week. But it was a blast. It has been great.
