Time is Money

Time is flying, in the beginning every day felt like, a day, then weeks felt like days, then months felt like days. Now it's all just nothing, time is just passing. I don't know when the transfer started, it feels like yesterday, or maybe this morning, who knows honestly. Fortunately, I know I have at least some time left. So, I'll just capitalize on that.

On Wednesday, we were about to get ready to leave when the other Elders in our apartment restarted their phone and then were suddenly locked out of their phone by their SIM card. I don't know exactly why it happened but SIM cards here have built in security features, for example every time you restart the phone you need a pin to unlock the SIM card. Somehow, the other Elders activated some extra security measure right as we needed to leave. And of course, to unlock it you need another phone, and to wait about an hour for the security code. So, the other Elders had to work the entire day without a phone. The best part is that we got the code about 30 minutes after we had all left, but we had no way to tell them code, so it wasn't until that night when we could give them the code. It was a little amusing and I was glad it didn't happen to us.

So we have this less active in our area that we have been trying to visit for a while now, every time we show up at his house at the scheduled time, and he isn't there. We wait and wait, and he doesn't show up. Then we leave, and shortly after he calls us telling us he just got home. It's great.

Also over the course of this transfer we have found about 3 new couples that have started going to church, the problem is none of the other couples we have are getting married! We have a few that are close but they are just moving so slowly. But we are trying to get it all sorted out.

Alright, funny story you remember that couple that we baptized that made me the Batman of Manganhe? Well, on Sunday we were working on their records and we went to make his and it had a match with an already existing record. So either there is someone with the exact same name, exact same birthdate and exact same parents as him or he had already been baptized in 2003. It was extremely surprising and honestly funny, he never mentioned this at all and doesn't act like it at all. The best part is that the wife waited for so long to get baptized with him and he was already baptized. So, now this week we have to talk to them and ask what in the world happened back in 2003.

It was a solid week, I feel like things are starting to pick up. We have decided that we are going to work super hard to get one couple married that is super close. Hopefully it will all work out.

That's enough for this week, see you next time,
