Work on the Edge

Time to write another email I suppose, its been a good week of work. And I'm here to tell you all about it.

This was my first full week in the area and man Beira is a nice place to do missionary work. It has a great balance of strong members who help with the work and interested people that can understand and act on what we teach. Plus its got the nice super markets and restaurants (and the weather is hot, but not too hot like Tete or Quelimane). It really is just nice.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to take it easy. So we're doing our best to work hard, find new people, help some couples get married, and help the church grow. This week we really got down on that visiting tons of people and working to get people ready for baptism.

Because Elder Candido's last companion was a little sick, he didn't get to know the area super well. One thing we have been doing is just visiting people that were taught a few months ago because a lot of them are actually solid people and a few are even going to church without us knowing! We found two couples that are always at church and just needs to get married. It has been super crazy.

This week we also had some baptisms. So our normal church building doesn't have a font but the stake building does, and not only that but it's a real indoor font (it even has mirrors and stuff). However there was a stake activity at the same time, so everyone showed up super late instead of just normal late. But once it got started it went well and we had 3 baptisms.

P.S. Beira, the name of the city and a word in Portuguese, translates to edge in English. So I am literally working on the Edge.

Some nice sauce you can only find in Beira
Also note the label has English, Portuguese, and French

The baptism, the other ward also had 2 people baptized
