E.xciting T.imes

Well, it was an exciting week. The beginning of the week was spent in Nampula at Zone Conference, we got back and then we had some Exciting Times.
Monday was P-day, but we also flew to Nampula leaving in the early afternoon and getting there late at night. It was pretty tiring but I have learned to bring stuff to do on the plane so it usually goes pretty smooth.

The very next day was Zone Conference, it was good. There was a lot of talk about obedience especially with technology which was fine. Probably my favorite line was from Sister Moraes saying "How can we live with God if we don't wake up at 6:30?" This line brought back memories from Zone Confrence about 10 months ago when she delivered a very similar line "how can we live with God if our houses are dirty?" Crazy how long it's been. When she said it, I flipped open my notebook where I had written it down last time she said something like that. Other than that, it was a good Zone Conference.

Then, the very next day we were flying back to Quelimane, and we were supposed to get there at 3pm but instead we got there at 8pm. We love the planes here in Mozambique.

Thursday and Friday resembeled fairly normal work days. Just scrambling to visit all the people we didn't have time to visit. It was going great until Friday afternoon, we had left a little early to visit a family that ended up not being there, but we visited some other people closeby so it worked out. But after that visit was when the Exciting Times happened.

And by Exciting Times I mean Emergency Transfer. President called and informed us that I would be leaving Quelimane and would be going to Beira, I asked him when, he said the AP's would tell me. The most bizarre part is that President and Sister Moraes were coming to Quelimane that night to have some meetings and do some work the coming week. Later, I found out I was leaving the next day. Then that night I drove the mission car to the airport (my first time driving in Africa, albeit it was only 3 minutes) and picked up President and Sister Moraes.

Saturday morning we had our baptism with President and Sister Moraes in attendence. Then we had an awesome lunch and soon enough I was in the airport on my way to Beira. Of course our flight was delayed again and I got to my new area super late at night.

Small detail when President called me he told me I would be going to Macarungo (Mac a rune goo). However, when I got there and met my comp Elder Candido I found out I was actually in Mangane. Just a fun little mistake that left me a little confused.

Another small detail, I was not the only person to get ET'd, in fact a lot of missionaries got transferred. Like half of my new district in Beira were all ET'd. I would be surprised if there was very many transfers when transfers actually happen but you never know.

But things are pretty cool here, we have a super nice branch and I barely know anyone yet but it should be pretty sweet.
The emergency transfer was definitely a surprise but I'm just trying to move forward and help the church grow wherever I am assigned.
