Thank Goodness for African Fast Food
It rained this week, twice. The forecast for this next just says that it will rain, basically all week. We're really moving into the rainy season now, and rain means wet, and wet means mangos! Some people are already starting to sell mangos in the markets. People love eating mangos and a lot of the time they eat unripe ones. It's funny because the next day they get stomachaches and they are all like "dang my stomach hurts, it was probably those mangos I ate yesterday. Dang mangos are so good though." Anyway, its been fun.
Tuesday night they had a meeting with all the leaders over Zoom. I mention it because they announced a new schedule for the mission. To put it simply, I didn't like it. We have to leave in the morning and lunch is only an hour long. Anyway it made me sad. The change doesn't make much sense to me but we'll see how it is going forward.
Zone Conference was this week. It was very different. They made it a lot faster which was a good change. There was a lot of trainings that were unnecessarily long, so they were shortened. Still we learned a lot and it was good. Instead of Zone Conference ending at about 5pm it ended at 1pm so after we had interviews. So we waited in the office most of the afternoon and had our interviews which went well. We ended up getting back to our area pretty late.
So, to explain the title. It was Saturday night and we had forgotten to buy energy so we were going to run out that night. Well, it was like 8:40 so the other Elders booked it to the only place that sells energy in Dondo (other than the company store that closes at 2): Dondo Take Away. Interestingly Dondo Take Away is also the only place in Dondo that sells ice cream. Anyway it is open until 10:30 and the Elders manage to get us enough energy to avoid a dark and hot Sunday.
Then Africa pranked us hard and all of Dondo didn't have energy on Sunday. But at least we have credit.
I think this email will just be a little shorter this week, things are going super good here. I hope you all have a good week there too.
