Mango Mania

First off, I would like to apoligize for something I failed to write about. Last week we had our mission tour with the one and only Elder Dube. Somehow with the events of that week I forgot to write about even though it literally took up a whole day and was a big deal. Things are just going by so quickly that I forget things that happen halfway through the week. Anyway I'll write about it a bit now.

I'll get right to it. The night before we headed up to Beira to stay the night with the ZL's to get there nice and early. The next morning we kept good on our word and left nice and early and got there well before we were even asked to. We did this because the mission had assembled a choir and I was put in it. So we practiced a little and then got ourselves ready. Then shortly Elder Dube and President and Sister Moraes showed up. The weirdest part for me is that there was only 30ish people in that room with Elder Dube who is a general seventy (which is one step below being an apostle). So it was interesting.
Anyway what he taught was good. He started by talking about following mission rules... by talking about nothing about it. Instead he focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ. My favorite part is when he used the story of Moses talking to God (in the Pearl of Great Price) to teach an important principle, eternal perspective. God showed Moses all things which were created and showed Moses his identity as a son of God. He wasn't simply showing him the wonders of God, he was showing Moses his potential! When we keep our focus on this, our challenges and temptation are put in perspective, and it becomes clear what will pay off in the eternities. Anyway I liked it a lot. Then we did some practices and he asked for volunteers and of course Elder Adams volunteered us. It was pretty simple and nice.
After the confrence part we had a delicious lunch and I found out that Elder Adams would have an interview with Dube. He told me a bit about it and once again Elder Dube brought up eternal perspective and how we need to live always our standards. We can hang out with our friends and have fun, but we must remember our potential. Anyway, it was a great time and now I have kept my promise to write about the mission tour.

So funny story this week, we were walking in our area and a storm was coming in so it was a little windy. There was some people hanging out underneath a mango tree. As the wind picked up some mangos began falling from the tree. Well, the people underneath started going crazy, racing around to grab the fallen mangos, yelling like a bunch of crazy teens. It was like watching a real life mini-game. So now I have personally witnessed a game of what I like to call "Mango Mania."

Saturday we got some incredible news, we now have permission to help certain couples pay for their documents. It was actually incredible news, almost as big as when baptism opened. It's great because we have two couples that need help with paying for documents. It was amazing to hear and will help work here a lot in the future.

Once again I still don't have any transfer news. I know crazy. It's just every time he 'might' call and I never know when. So of course all day Sunday as I was saying bye to people I was thinking, this might actually be the last time I see them and I have no idea. There are a lot of great people here and I think I will miss a lot of them. But surely greater things are to come, so, I'll just have to see what's in store for me.
