Delicious

The weather has been slowly changing from hot summer days to hot summer days but with clouds (and soon rain). Afternoons this week were often cloudy but it is yet to rain, however it shouldn't be long before it begins to drizzle.

That's the weather report for this week. It was a very normal week. Transfers have come and gone, and shockingly nobody got transferred in our house. We were all expecting at least one person in the house to get transferred so we were shocked when nobody was called. We didn't really know when President was going to call so it was about Wednesday morning when we decided to call the zone leaders and ask if it was already over, it was. So, that means that Elder Adams and I will keep on working here in Dondo and Elder Davidson and Soares will keep on working in the branch together. It should be quite fun.

Alright funny story this week. So as we were chatting in the house we were joking about a word in Portuguese that directly translates to 'delicious.' Well to us it's a pretty normal word and here in Mozambique it isn't used much but also means 'delicious.' Well, in Brazil it has a very different, much more carnal meaning (like hot or sexy). As you can imagine we (the Americans) thought it was funny to joke about that word with Elder Soares (Brazilian) like the 12 year olds we are.
Well, later we were visiting a less active and his drunk dad walks up. And for a bit I thought it was going to be alright but boy was I wrong. He just kept on talking and he was so weird. He was just rambling about how much he liked us, and then he said "you two are delicious" and Elder Adams and I were shocked. Anyway eventually after some harsh words his son managed to get him to leave us alone and the lesson was fine. To be completely honest I was not expecting to be called hot by a 60 year old drunk man this week, but hey, It's Africa™️.

Also this week we had a lot of water and power problems. Our water wasn't working for about two days, our power shut off the next day and two days in row the power shutoff for most of the night and then turned on randomly at 5 am. The only reason why I mention that last one is because Elder Adams and I both remember waking up to the power turning back on. But, we are happy (mostly) and hey, It's Africa™️.

The work is going very well here, our leaders are solid, we have a solid teaching pool and a lot of people are showing up to church.
